The Magic of Christmas at St- Anthonys.

Our home is full of cheer this Christmas even with Covid, northing can dampen our festivity. Our Christmas trees are twinkling and we encourage out residents to add decorations to their own rooms. Our residents have been busy creating wonderful decoration, special cards, baubles and gifts for their loved ones.

Christmas Jumper Day

It wouldn’t be a St Anthonys Christmas without celebrating Christmas Jumper day on 11th December Staff and residents paraded in festive jumpers competing for the best jumper prize.

Special Events

• Festive Christmas Party- “Rocking around the Christmas tree” loads of delicious treats followed by a festive tipple
• Games, quizzes and festive fun Christmas bingo is always popular at StAnthonys residential home and this year we will also be playing pin the hat on Santa.
• “Silent Night ”Our residents will have the opportunity to look forward to taking part in a online Christmas church service
• Special Christmas Bake Off
• Festive Movie Night, Christmas PJ’s, Hot Chocolate with Delicious Home Made Cookies.

Remembering our loved ones

We will be paying tribute to all out loved ones we have lost this year, we will be passing our Christmas reminiscence ball around to share fond memory’s.

Christmas Coffee Morning

At St Anthonys we love music and coffee and sometimes we just need to bang on a tambourine and twingle the triangle, we may even swap our coffee for a hearty hot chocolate layered with double cream and topped with a very cheeky ginger bread man Oh! and lets not forget the mince pies.

Keeping in Touch

At St Anthonys we know how important it is for a residents to feel connected with there families and friends. The Pandemic has both highlighted this and made it very difficult- making it even more critical this festive period. We will be using out door window visits in our very large spacious garden, Zoom calls, Skype calls and specially filmed videos to help our residents keep in touch with their loved ones this Christmas.

Making Christmas Extra Special

Adapting a whole home approach means all our staff will be hand on to make Christmas extra special, our care staff will be available to pick out our residents favourite outfits for the special day too much glam in never enough!

Our dining team will dress the tables with Christmassy napkins and crackers set the festive music and make sure everyone has a Christmas tipple of their choice.

The Chritsmas Period is a time for feel-good foods and indulging in our favourites. Our chefs in the home have been planning ahead this year, from the delicious festive foods on offer to special diet options and table arrangments

What can residents look forward to eating and drinking on Christmas day?

Delicious Traditional Roast Dinner and all the trimmings, with roasted vegetables and classic Brussels Spouts, Crispy goose fat potatoes, tasty pigs in blankets and scrumptious stuffing balls.

If you have room left over we will be serving a option of desserts including Christmas pudding, a selection of cheeses with port or Brandy. Chocolate yule log with a tempting cherry.

Christmas Day Treats and Tipples

We will serving spiced milled wine. Bucks fizz or bubbles, mince pices, classic gingerbread man, cookies and cupcakes.
